Clarke’s first auction of the New Year was a prosperous one with many exquisite fine art, furniture and decorative items selling above estimate to bidders around the world.


Cavaliere Luigi Moglia, 19th Century Roman Micromosaic.

This extraordinary and large Roman micromosaic sold for $27,600 to a bidder on the floor, making it the highest selling lot of the auction.



Regency Specimen Marble Top and Gilt Decorated Rosewood Game Table.

A specimen marble top game table, expected to bring between $4,000-$6,000, brought a surprising $19,200 – more than 3 times the estimate.


Old Master Oil on Canvas "Adoration of the Magi"

Found in a local Scarsdale, NY attic, this old master oil on canvas brought $15,600 at auction.


Pair Large Antique Dutch Pharmaceutical Jars.

A pair of antique jars, estimated to sell between $7,00-$1,000, sold to a phone bidder in the UK for $5,040.


Outstanding Antique Chinese Peking Style Oversized Carpet

Selling just below the high-end estimate, this Chinese carpet brought $5,760 on the day of the sale.


Walter Langley. Watercolor "The Sunset of Life."

A beautifully executed work by British watercolorist, Walter Langley brought more than twice the estimate, selling for $7,800.


10 Mattaliano Ceruse Oak Dining Chairs.

This set of 10 chairs by Mattaliano sold for $4,080, surpassing the presale estimate of $1,500-$2,500.

Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Lithograph Poster "La Revue Blanche."

Despite the condition and reflected low estimate, an original Toulouse-Lautrec poster brought $5,520 to a bidder on the internet. 

Exceptional and Finely Carved Irish Style Parlor Set in Mahogany.

Falling right within Clarke’s presale estimate, this parlor set sold for $4,080.


Sterling Flatware Set by International Silver.

Selling just above the high-end estimate, this Sterling service brought $3,360.
