Clarke’s first auction of the fall art and antiques season was a great success with an eclectic mix of items and high-selling lots throughout each aspect of the sale.



Outstanding Pair of Meissen Pate Sur Pate Vases.

These Meissen pate sur pate vases sold for $13,200, more than doubling the high end of the $3,000-$5,000 estimate.



Pair of Large Goldscheider Terracotta Figures.

Bringing $7,800 on Monday night, striking pair of Goldschieder figures sold for more than anticipated to buyer in Russia.



Important Antique Jade Pomegranates.

These Chinese Qing Dynasty jade pomegranates proved to be important pieces when they brought $8,400 on auction night.



19th Century Bronze Mounted Cabinet.

 Falling just shy of the high-end presale estimate, an ornate bronze-mounted cabinet sold for $4,800.



Ðuro Pulitika. Two Midcentury Croatian Oils.

Two oils by important Croatian painter, Ðuro Pulitika, sold above the expected estimates, bringing a combined $11,280.



Frank Meisler. Rotating Jerusalem Sphere with Opening Gates.

Estimated to bring between $2,000-$3,000 at auction, a sculpture of Jerusalem by Israeli artist Frank Meisler actually realized $5,040 at auction.



Outstanding Midcentury Chinese Lacquered Four Panel Screen/Room Divider.

It’s no surprise that several Chinese items were among the top lots of the night; this midcentury Chinese lacquered screen sold for $7,800 and was shipped to the winning bidder in China.



Daniel LaRue Johnson. Abstract Geometric Oil on Canvas.

In January of this year, Clarke set the auction record for African-American artist Daniel LaRue Johnson at $3,000. On September 10th that record was surpassed when this geometric oil brought $6,600 making it the highest selling painting by the artist at auction.


Pair of Amethyst Colored Bronze Mounted Lamps.

This pair of  lamps greatly exceeded the pre-sale estimate of $800-$1,200, selling for a surprising $4,560.

Three midcentury paintings by Atillo Salemme were among the highlights of the fine art in this sale; this Salemme oil sold for $6,600
